Viability

Hip hip hooray! We made it to the 24 week mark. That means that if the baby was born today, doctors would have enough technology to give the baby a chance at living. Just a few more weeks left until I get to the third trimester.

Other than that, the munchking continues to do her kicks and turns and twists. She's very active after I drink hot apple cider, eat lunch or dinner. Brad is now really starting to see her kick from the outside. She must be getting stronger or she's running out of room.

Baby Registry

Many of you have been asking about where we are registered. Currently, we are registered at Babies R Us and at Target. Just make sure you have the correct last name! Also... the registry is not complete, as I just did a lot of it online. I have yet to go to the store and grab one of those "guns".

23 Weeks and counting down

Okay, so after all my friends started blogs, I decided it was time to start my own so everyone can see what's going on all across the country.

So, a little background... Brad and I are expecting our first child. The estimated due date is June 18th. We know we're having a little girl. No name has been picked out at this time, so don't ask! I'm currently in my 23rd week and only have 116 days to go! We're getting excited.

So far, this baby has travelled extensively. From 6-8w, the baby went to Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Columbia, San Diego and Ft. Lauderdale. At 14w, she went to Prescott, AZ. And then at 18-19w she was back in Florida and went to the Bahamas! She's already a world traveller!

We're busy getting the nursery ready. We've bought a crib ( http://www.babysdream.com/Products/GenerationNext/Default.htm ) for the baby as well as a changing table ( http://www.milliondollarbaby.com/SS_M4702_chgr.htm ). We're using Brad's old dresser and night stand for the rest of the furniture for the room. The theme of the room will be Dr. Seuss. The walls will be painted a pale yellow and turquoise and maybe another color thrown in there for good measure. In addition, I will be drawing Dr. Seuss characters on the wall which will be painted in. This is a theme I have been dreaming up for years!

Other than that, I go in for my next check up on March 19. I also have the Glucose screening (gestational diabetes) that I can do at any time, close to 28w. On March 14, I have another ultrasound scheduled because at the last u/s, they saw that the placenta was a little too close to my cervix. So they want to see if the placenta has moved up or if it has stayed in the same place.

Here's a picture of me at 6w and one at 23w. See if you can see the difference!

I still feel really tiny!

Here's a picture of the Play yard that we bought:

And here's a picture of what Grandma and Grandpa Ferreira-Thiel bought the munchkin. The bear 3 feet tall and from Vermont! And that's Emmy on the right, not quite sure of the intruder. I guess that's all I have to report at this time. Keep looking for recent updates!
