Getting a little more crowded!

Amelia, my little munchkin, is getting bigger and bigger. She now has a new tooth! That makes 7! She's got four on the top and three on the bottom.

Anyway, that's about all we have to report from this end of the world.

Video of Amelia Modeling

Sorry this took so long... but without further ado... here's the video of Amelia modeling! Special editing courtesy given to Daddy!

House note: We got the estimate for redoing the bathroom. There's only a $4,000.00 difference. Phew! We thought it might be more. In addition, we just did our taxes and we're going to be getting money back! Double phew!

Amelia Walks

We've got a walker on our hands! Enjoy the video!

House update: There's no roof. Trusses come next Thursday. We're meeting with the foreman tomorrow to see what the estimate is on remodeling our bathroom. Keep your fingers crossed that it won't be an arm and a leg!

Amelia's Prize

It's been awhile... but I forgot to add this to the blog... maybe because it came shortly before the whole tree mess.

Anyway, do you remember this picture and the contest we entered it in?

Here's what we won:

My Little Hula Girl

Last October (2008), Amelia's grandparents (Rake) went to Hawaii for a week. When they got back, they gave her the following: a mumu, two t-shirts and a hula outfit. One of the t-shirts she has since grown out of and the mumu she can't quite fit in yet. But she can fit into this:

The middle picture is definitely my favorite. Oh and you've got to see how well she hula's and walks:

On the house front... the permits came in, the trusses have been ordered and all we can do is wait. Oh yes, Amelia had her 9 month check up. She weighs 18.3 pounds and is 26.5" tall. Until next time! Loves from Amelia.

A Mobile Amelia

Here's a sign of the times... our little munchkin is growing up. Tonight I put together her step & ride toy. She's certainly enjoying it!

Amelia is understanding us more... or maybe we're understanding her more. She's now saying "hi" and "bye" and waving at the same time. It's just too cute. She is fascinated with Emmy. Other than that... it's bathtime!

Modeling debut!

Amelia had her modeling debut this morning at Nordstrom. She had a great time and was the perfect model. We had an early start to the morning, but got to Nordstrom shortly before eight. Then there was a lot of waiting around. At 8:30 the show began. Amelia walked with mommy down the catwalk. At the end, she posed on the green rug, got her picture taken and then walked off. She got lots of oooh's and ahhh's. Many thought she was just so cute. After all the models had gone through, Amelia had one last walk through. It was great. We're planning to do the fall/winter one in November. Here are the pictures of her debut. We hope to get the video online sometime in the future, so watch for that!

Getting ready for the big day....

Amelia has crashed - she's getting her beauty rest for tomorrow's fashion show at Nordstrom. How exciting! So that means mommy has a chance to update the blog and let you know what's happening in the remodeling world!

Today we met with a cabinet person. So we're getting closer to picking out stuff. The only thing is, is that we have no idea what our budget is. Ugh! We met with the foreman of the job. He showed us a sketch of our bathroom remodel. It looks fantastic! I am excited for it. I just hope we can afford to do what we want to do, though. It may take some sacrafices, though. But the foreman willing to work with us. We are still waiting for the city permits. Sounds like the City of Fairview is taking its sweet time and the city person is making sure he's "doing his job" so he doesn't get laid off in this terrible economy. So we're waiting on him again. He doesn't like the trusses and is recommending they been done a certain way (exactly the way that they were turned in). In addition, he wants something with the flooring (the second level)... something to the fact that they can withstand wind. However, the floor in question is INSIDE the house and not outdoors where the wind hits it... double ugh! So that's where we are now. Just waiting. However they have started to rip up the sub floor. They've got the electrician coming out next week to start rewiring... but anything major will have to wait for the city permits. Oh yea, the dumpster is coming next week to get rid of all the junk out on our front porch. Here are some pictures of the house Brad took today.

Until next time....

My Bad...

After viewing Amelia upside down, I noticed that it's not her "fangs" or canine teeth that are coming in, but the two teeth on either side of the two top front ones. So those two teeth have popped through and now the two middle teeth on the top are just about out. Knock on this wood desk I've got the computer on... she hasn't bitten me... yet! ;-)

Nine Months!

Amelia celebrated her 9 month birthday. I can't believe that she's getting so "old" so quick. It's been a great journey so far... with many ups and downs. Here are some of the things she has been doing this past month:

* Loves to eat meat, her favorite is chicken, but she has had pulled pork, steak and ground beef.

* Doesn't like or know how to crawl, but instead motors around on her tushy by hopping up and down like a little kangaroo.

* Loves to talk a lot, especially in the morning. I will hear her on the monitor talking to her bear and dog, Biscuit.

* Is really loving Emmy. Everytime Emmy comes near her while she's in her exersaucer, she starts jumping up and down like a mad woman. In addition, she loves watching Emmy while she's eating.

* Still enjoys eating her vegetables.

* Has four teeth! I was feeling around her mouth Saturday and felt a "fang", so her upper right canine tooth has popped. Then today her left "fang" popped.

* Enjoys playing with her bath toys, squeezing them, then letting the water squirt out.

* Is almost at 27" according to our measurements... weight, unknown as the scale is broken.

* Still has a morning, afternoon and evening nap.

* Likes to stand up a lot.

One exciting piece of news to tell you all about. Amelia is going to be a Nordstorm model! Saturday, while we were at the Olive Garden, we got a call from a lady who works at Nordstorm asking us if we wanted Amelia to be in a kids fashion show. Of course I said yes! So this next Saturday, Amelia is going to put on a pretty dress and strut the runway (with mommy). We hussled over to the Nordies last night after dinner to pick out an outfit. We went through several before we picked out a sleeveless dress. She even has a sweater to wear with it and cute little socks. The dress is a little big, as it's 12 months, but with the little bow, we can make it tighter and make it look not so big. We'll be taking it to Florida for a cousin's wedding. Should be fun. Her modeling debut will be at 8:30am Saturday. Hope she doesn't get a complex from her adoring fans!

Here is her latest bear comparison!

Life's great, ain't it?

I love this picture!

We're back in business!

We have internet! After several LONG weeks, we finally have internet service. It's a long story, but after Verizon messed our DSL up, we finally pitched them (house phone, too) and went with Comcast. Comcast is running a great special for 6 months, so for the past four hours, I've been enjoying the high speed internet. It only took 60 seconds to load up this video. It's great.

As for the house stuff, we're picking out flooring and cabinets. We're also meeting with the foreman of the reconstruction tomorrow. Should be interesting.

Amelia finally pooped yesterday, TWICE! (I'm sure later in life she'll love me for writing that.) And then today she had little poops. We've been pumping her full of prunes, trying to get her to drink more, I've been feeding her pears and fiberous foods. But maybe I'll start her on some fruit juice. Who knows. I plan on calling the pediatrician tomorrow to see what I can do in helping her go poo more.

Still waiting for our house to be fixed

Here's the latest update... we're still in our rental house. There's still nothing going on at the house house. However, we think things will soon be moving along. We found out from the foreman that they are waiting for the second run through from the structural engineer. The engineer had to make a second pass at our house to check on the subflooring (second floor/first floor ceiling). Once that is done, then the info will be passed on to the contractor which that in turn will mean that he can go to the city and get permits for the house. Once that happens, then it takes about 2 weeks for the trusses to be ordered and shipped to the house and... here's the critical part... we have to wait for two straight days of no rain. Ha! That will be interesting as we are in the middle of winter and in the PNW. In any case, if they can get two days of no rain, they will fix the hole in the roof and then worry about redoing the rest of the roof when they get more sunshine. So that's what we're waiting for. Amelia's room has no ceiling and part of the room is masked off with plastic. We're trying to save Are You My Mother and Marvin.

On another front, Amelia is nearly 9 months old now. I took her picture in front of the bear shortly after she turned 8 months, but we're on lousy dial up right now, so getting pictures on the blog is a pain in the rear. But I'll post more pictures once we get our DSL back. Amelia is having some trouble going poop. She's eating a lot more solids... and that's what may be backing her up. But she's at least pooping once a week... if you have any remedies, please feel free to kick them my way. Other than that, Amelia is doing well. She's growing... already in her 6-9 month clothes (finally got them back from the cleaner)... and some of those clothes she's almost growing out of them. I can't believe how fast she's growing. She's now quite a talker. It's so nice to wake up in the morning hearing her babble on the baby monitor instead of crying. I hear her talking to herself or the stuffed animals in her crib. It's just great. Amelia is also trying to crawl, however, her mode of transportation is hopping on her butt. It's quite cute. Brad got some video of her doing it across the kitchen floor of the rental. I also put all the unbreakables in the bottom cupboards in the kitchen, so she's enjoying it when I open the cabinet and she can pull out the plastic bowls, measuring cups and spoons. I've got video of that... but since I am dial up, you'll have to wait to see that.

On February 20, Amelia met her BFF (best friend forever), Kendyl. Kendyl was born on Feb. 18 by c-section because she was VERY VERY breech. Her feet were over her head breach and her butt was down. Amelia enjoyed her first "play date" with K. Here's a picture of them together. I can't believe how tiny K was... I forget that they are that small when they come out. :) Congrats to K's mom and dad, Jen & Troy.

After visiting with K, Amelia and I went to the RE's office at the hospital. The staff was so excited to see her... however, there were only two originals. The other three people left to go to other practices. Nevertheless, they were tickled pink to see a product of their doing.
Well, that's about it... until next time...
