Paging Dr. Amelia - Stat!

Yesterday I took Amelia to my 24w OB appointment. The wait was long, but well worth it. Amelia was a perfect toddler, playing with another little girl in the waiting room. After about an hour wait, we got into see the doctor. Here's what happened!

Here's Amelia playing with the toys in the waiting room.

Dr. Amelia!
After a shouting match with Dr. Bley with who could yell "No!" the loudest, she asked Amelia if she wanted to help. Amelia said, "Sure." The result... Amelia got to smear gel on Mommy's tummy and got to help listen for her sister's heartbeat.

Heartbeat at a strong 150 bpm. Fundal height is 25cm. Usually it's 1cm for every week you're pregnant... so this baby is taking up a little more room (don't get too big!). Everything is looking good. Next appointment is at the end of June, followed by an appointment every two weeks! Yikes! This pregnancy is going by soooo incredibly fast! Before my next appointment, I have to take the glucose test. I like the fact I don't have to go back to the doctor's office to take the test - they just give me the drink and I take it when I want to... and then go into the lab, which is just up the street from me to get the bloodwork done. Easy as pie. +

After being at the doctor's office for an hour and a half, we went home. Amelia was acting giddy in the car!

Until next time!!!

New Skills

Here's some video of Amelia learning how to put on her pants!

Stay tuned for more tomorrow... we'll see if she can get them on!

Phew!

Our little daughter continues to grow so fast. I can't believe that in less than a month she'll be two years old! Wow! How time flies. Amelia continues to amaze both Mommy and Daddy. Last Thursday we taught her how to take out the kitchen trash. She successfully put a new bag liner in the can and then put the can under the sink. Wow! She's also learning how to put her pants on (see below). Her words and sentences continues to grow. We never know what will pop out of her mouth!

Also, last week, Grammy and Papa came out to visit us. Grammy spent a full day with Amelia on Tuesday playing and reading her new book, "Where's the Poop?" Thanks a bunch, because all she wants to do is read that book. I don't know what's worse... "Where's the Poop?" or "The Foot Book."

As for Munchkin #2 - kicking has commenced. The other night I was lying on the couch and she was kicking up a storm. I could see the movement from underneath the blanket! This Sunday marks 24 weeks and baby's viability! In another month, I will be in the third trimester! I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going. So crazy! My next appointment is next Tuesday.
