Amelia is growing by leaps and bounds. Her latest advancement is being able to sit up by herself... sort of...

A bee in my bonnet

Wow two posts in a day! Here's Amelia and Daddy with her newest toy! Yes, we know she has a severe case of bed head!

Pumpkin Patch! (pictures)

This weekend we went with our good friends, Tracey and Eugene, to the pumpkin patch. It was Amelia's first time to a place like this. And this was no ordinary pumpkin patch... for they had a lion and tiger and bear (insert, "Oh my" here). In addition, the farm had pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, turkeys, horses, emus and more. The destination wasn't close, but it was worth it. See the slideshow below!

First art project (video)

My sweet Amelia is growing so fast! She's blowing raspberries at me, thus spitting all over me... and just yesterday she gave Daddy and me her first art project! It's Halloween themed and she made it at Becky's. See her creation below!

And here is a video of her playing on her mat!

Random Pictures

Amelia is napping in her nursery now, so I am taking this opportunity to update her blog again. Really not much to report since yesterday, except that I am adding more pictures to the blog.

Amelia's first blog post

So, it's been awhile since I last posted. There's really nothing new to report. Amelia keeps getting bigger. She's now more than 14 pounds and we've retired the size 1-2 diapers. She's now wearing a size 2 full time! Ugh! She's getting so big so quickly. One thing I've noticed is that Amelia is getting way more vocal... often times "shouting" in the middle of the night. And boy, is that loud coming over the monitor. For instance, right now she's "shouting" at me to pick her up off of her activity mat. Ah yes, last night was an interesting night. She woke up at 3am to eat, then nodded off to sleep. Then at 4am, she woke up again and was bright eyed and bushy tailed. She didn't want to eat. All she wanted to do is play and talk. So from 4-4:40am we were playing in the nursery. After that, she grew sleepy and we went back to bed. Then at 5:30am she decided it was time to eat again. Mind you, I had to work at 7am this morning. Ugh! I am draggin' today! We're still waiting for that first tooth to pop out. She's droolin' like a mad woman. Other than that... here are some random pictures. :)

And here is a picture of the painted shed. It was another family affair... me, Brad, Amelia and Brad's parents, Bill and Evelyn.

The above text (if you could call it that) would be Amelia's first blog entry. Let me translate for you... ahem... "Mommy, please get off the computer and change my very stinky diaper."

And with that... until next time!

A Family Affair

Today after I got home from work, Brad, Amelia and I set out to work on the shed. Decked in our best painting gear, we painted the trim and the door to the shed. Amelia had fun... at first... but I don't know if she's earning her keep. Amelia fell asleep on the job!

Here are some pictures from Steve and Laura's birthday themed Oktoberfest.

One Year Ago...

I can't believe that one year ago Brad and I went to bed not knowing what tomorrow would bring. One year ago, tomorrow, Brad and I found out we were going to be parents. It was 6:35am October 10th when I went into the bathroom and took a pregnancy test. For two minutes I waited anxiously not knowing what to expect... well, I was expecting a negative test. But I wasn't going to take the test if it hadn't been for my friend, Dawn! Thanks for the peer pressure! Sure enough, it was positive! Two red lines crept across the test. Woo hoo!

Now a year later, I have the most gorgeous (yes, I am biased) 4 month old. Speaking of which, Amelia went in for her 4 month check up and things are going well. She weighs 13 pounds, 10.5 ounces (50th percentile), 24" tall (50th percentile) and her head measures 16 1/2" (just above the 50th percentile). The doctor says she is measuring perfectly. He even thinks she is advanced for her age because she likes to stand a lot (predicts an early walker), is passing things from one hand to another, is showing signs of shyness (a 6-9mo stage) and is very observant. Whatever the case, she's just perfect. She's now taking the bottle a little better and she's actually enjoying the sippy cup. She can even feed herself with it - under adult supervision, of course! Oh yes, Amelia likes to play with her feet now. She hasn't gotten the knack of putting her toes in her mouth, but she can reach her feet now. Oh and I can't forget... last Thursday, she rolled over three times from her tummy to her back. She did it once for Becky and then twice for me. She has yet to do it again for Daddy or the video camera... but we're working on it.

Here are a few pictures that we've taken over the past week. Enjoy (if the slideshow stops, click on the "X" in the upper right hand corner of the slide show. The advertisement thing will go away and the show will resume)

In memoriam (updated)

Here are a few of my favorite pictures of Amelia with her Great Grandfather, Poppee, who passed on this morning. He was 93 years young and loved by all!
