What a big day it has been for Amelia. To start off, she woke up screaming at 1 am. Daddy took care of her and laid her back down. Then at 2a she decided that she didn't want to sleep by herself, so Mommy got up and took care of her. Since I knew she wasn't going to sleep in her crib, I just brought her to bed. I think she had a night terror since she didn't want me to let go of her. She would fall off of my chest and immediately climb back on and fall right back to sleep.
Then today a Becky's, she sat on the potty and made a little poop. So the potty training has begun. I figured I might as well continue the training at home, so I brought out her royal potty that makes noise when she makes business in it (thank auntie jenny!). So after sitting on it several times she finally went poop! It took awhile but she did it and the potty made fun noises. She managed to tinkle too but in the melee of her going no. 2 she kind of missed. So Amelia is so pround of herself. We have a long way to go but a step is a step. And yes, I did take a picture of her accomplishment, but I am doing this post on the blackberry and I don't think the picture would be too appropriate. ;) this is not the first time Amelia has pooped in the toilet. She has done it in the grown up potty several times.
Tonight Amelia had the "mommy said 'no' so I'll go ask daddy syndrome. I had read her Dr. Seuss' Foot Book. She wanted me to read it again. I told her no I was tired of reading it. Sogot off my lap, turned around and walked to Daddy with her book in hand. She placed the book in his lap. It was hysterical! No prompting whatsoever. She went straight to Daddy when she didn't get what she wanted. Them Daddy got tired of the book, so I sent Amelia back to the living room to her bookshelf and told her to get a new book. She took her prized book back to the living room and we could hear her at the shelf. Then the patter of feet returning. In her hands two new books. She was so proud of herself, too. She brought a book for each of us to read to her.
Oh yes, Amelia is starting to do chores around the house. She now helps set the table. We give her a placemat, napkin and a fork (one at a time) and she puts it on the table for us. It's so cute. We've got such a big girl.
I also put together Amelia's shopping cart. She loves putting things in it.
Another thing, Amelia's next fashion show is set for November 14.
And... Go Dawgs! They are now number 24! They beat USC. Amelia was so excited. We were dancing in the family room.
I promise to put pictures and video up later.
