We're still alive!

Sorry gang... it's been awhile since I last posted. A lot has gone on this past week and a half. We're on dial up for awhile until we can find the dsl box. First off, we're in our new house. We still have boxes, but the boxes are few. We're still waiting for work to begin on the house. We've made calls into the house people to see where we are in terms of that... but you know contractors... they don't call you back in good time... always on theirs. So in the meantime, we're happy in our new rental home.

Amelia is happy she's here. We've got her room all situated and she likes it. She's been sleeping in her room though the night which is such a switch from the hotel where she would sleep with us in our bed. Amelia keeps growing like a weed. She is now fitting in her 6-9 month clothes and is eating a whole bunch of new food. For instance, she started meats (real stuff, not from the jar) our last week at the hotel. So she enjoys beef. She also likes pulled pork and her favorite is chicken. The other night I made myself chicken strips... and she at almost 3/4 of it. Yummy!

This past week, Papa came to visit us here. He was on business, but managed to spend the dinner hour with us. It was fun. Other than that, we're still plugging and chugging away. Oh yes, emmy likes that she is now home with us.

Pat-A-Cake!

So, tomorrow we're moving... so my time online is short. But I wanted to leave you with another video of Amelia to keep you happy...

Also, wanted to let you know my pal, Bruce Murdock with K103 radio put Amelia practicing for American Idol on the radio this morning. I was at work, but apparently, it was on around 7am. I am hoping to get an air check of the segment and will post when I can. :) Until next time....

American Idol Amelia

So my little Amelia is giving those American Idol singers a run for their money. She's currently practicing her vocals so she can woo Randy, Paula and Simon. Here's a little snippet of her vocals. Tell me if you think she's the next Kelli Clarkson or Carrie Underwood.

In other news... we're getting ready to move from the Staybridge Suites into our new digs in Troutdale. We move in on Thursday, knock on wood. We also get a whole bunch of rental furniture which includes kitchen stuff, linens and more. It should be an interesting few months. Plus we also got word that they're starting the demolition on the house. The structural engineer wanted to see behind some of the sheetrock, so when Brad went to the house today, Amelia's room is all torn apart. However, the wall with "Are You My Mother?" is still standing, but who knows, that may have to go. But we're requesting the contractors save that wall so we don't have to repaint that.

On a lighter note, I am watching Amelia bounce up and down getting closer to the coffee table. I guess she's done playing with the box we gave her and the little dog Karlie gave to her at the bowling alley.

More to come!

I'm moving!

Here's the latest on the house saga.... the family is moving - again. We've finally secured a house to live in for the next six months. We'll be moving next Thursday and it's only 2 miles from our house. It's a three bedroom, 2 1/2 bath house, kitchen, dining, living room and loft. The insurance company is renting us furniture and all the other necessities. So that's good.

The structural engineeer came to the house yesterday and says that the damage to our house is the worst he has seen in years. He said that the wall that separated the master bath and Amelia's room was what took the force and the brunt of the tree. It knocked and split two floor joists down into the first floor ceiling. The master bedroom is shot... and it almost seems like we're going to get a new house. Too bad they can't just bulldoze the house and start from scratch! Ho hum, it's all good, though.

Anyway... here's a picture....
First Class to MoMo!

Also... a big happy CONGRATULATIONS to Amy and Tyler (my cousins) who became parents to a beautiful little girl, Caitlan. And another happy congrats to Dawn who just found out she's pregnant! woo hoo! H&H9M!

Amelia's sad...

Hello! We're back! Here are just a few pictures of us through the last few weeks.
The first one is a picture of Amelia in her nursery with Grandpa. As you can tell, she's quite distraught over her room. She's sad that everything is broken and the room is a mess. Oh well... she'll get over it... (click on the picture to see it bigger)

This is a picture of Amelia in her nursery playing with a tree branch hanging from her ceiling. As you can tell, she was quite intrigued with the tree.

And here's a picture of Sam and Amelia. We had an evening out with Sam, Pam and us three at the Olive Garden. It was so yummy. Amelia had a great time playing with Sam's beard.

On another note... we're still looking for a more permanent place to stay. We're still in limbo, but we're enjoying not having to cook three nights a week and we're also happy that we don't have to make breakfast!

And... we've hit another milestone... Amelia is clapping on her own. She likes clapping her hands. We sing "Pat a cake" and she'll start clapping her hands. It's sooooo cute! I love it. Amelia is also eating applesauce, mac & cheese and more. Other than that... we're keeping cool! Until next time...
