Amelia's "Pretty"

One of my friends is making these bows. Amelia is modeling them for her. If you'd like to purchase one, I'll give you her contact number. She does custom barretts.

Not Happy

Someone wasn't happy with me when I put her down for "night night" (bed). This was taken in the rental house.

Amelia walking video

So Amelia is well on her way with walking. I caught this video last night of her walking in the house. Enjoy. Will try to catch her in the act again. However, I do believe she's enjoying her house. She loves scaling the stairs, getting into her tupperware drawer and loves her room. Tonight, I was reading her the "Are you my mother?" book and when I got to the last page, she pointed to the mural on her wall. Priceless gang, just priceless!

More to come... as I have a whole bunch of pictures and video to post!

P.S. yes, her hair is starting to curl.

We're walking!

What a huge day! Amelia is officially a walker. She took 5 big girl steps today. Three trying to get to mommy and two trying to walk to Daddy. The set up... Daddy was eating an apple and Amelia loves to eat apples. As Daddy was finishing up the apple, I asked if I could feed her some. I used the apple to get Amelia to walk to me... and low and behold, she took three solid steps before she held on to my legs. It was truly amazing. Daddy did the same thing and Amelia took two steps before holding on to Daddy's legs. Our little girl is growing up. I am so happy that she did it in our house and not the rental. I just knew she was waiting to get into her home to walk. :) Good times!

Hip Hip Hooray

We.Are.In.Our.New.Old.House. Waking up in the house was devine. Going up and down our old stairs simply marvelous. It almost brought tears to my eyes. Not to mention, I got a great deal on our cable/internet/phone package. We get it all for $119 for two years, plus HBO for two years and DVR for a year. Much better than the package they first offered us. I asked to speak to "loyalty" or "retention" because Verizon's FIOS is in our area. They better make us a good deal. Hee hee hee! Oh, did I mention that our house has air conditioning? It's gonna be a hot one today.

So, Amelia got to sleep in her own room last night in the pack and play. I wouldn't say it was a restful night's sleep. She would whimper in her sleep quite a lot. I guess it's gonna take some time to get used to the new surroundings. In any case, love the house. Will post pictures once things are situated.

Moving date?

Hopefully Amelia can hold off on walking for another week. Looks like our moving date into the new "old" house will be sometime in the last week of July. Woo hoo! However, that may be pushed back if the insurance company doesn't pay the movers for moving us out and storing our stuff. So our stuff is being held ransom. Ugh! Other than that... nothing much new. It's hot here and the house still doesn't have A/C no matter how hard I wish for A/C in the rental or pray. :)

I got a boozer!

We thought Amelia left the bottle stage behind...

Apparently, we were wrong. She's picked up the bottle habit again. What is that darn Becky teaching her during the day? ;)

Updated bear pictures!

Hello again! Sorry I've been MIA on the postings... just with work, Amelia and the house, things have been crazy. Quickly, we've been put on hold yet again for the house. We're waiting for the trim package to be finished. They say they'll get that back by this Wednesday and then it will take a day to install. Then there's a whole bunch of odds and ends. Either way, we're looking at getting back into the house at the EARLIEST next week. Hopefully we'll be in BEFORE our anniversary.

Regardless, Amelia continues to impress. She's started saying "pretty", "night night" (when it's time to go to bed or nap time. Mommy always says night night to her), "love you", "Audry" (her cousin) and blows kisses when we say good night to Daddy. I just love seeing her learn all this great stuff. She's also learning to put things away, but still seeks the thrill of taking them out more. She's going to be walking any minute now. I just hope her first steps will be in our house. I don't care if we're moved in yet, I just want the steps to be in the house. She's definitely getting ready.

Here is the updated slide show of Amelia and the bear.

We have a walker!

This evening I decided to put Amelia's Step, Walk & Ride up to see what she'd do. Normally she'd cry and sit on her tushy. This evening she decided she had different plans.

Now we can't get her away from the darn cart. Exciting times!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July America!

Here I am sitting at my diner in my patriotic onsie enjoying tea and biscuits. Oh wait, shouldn't I be drinking coffee and cookies? No matter... Happy 233rd Anniversary of America declaring independence from the British.

We have electricity!

Finally! We're now really close to moving into our house. I cannot wait. All these months playing "house" in a different house is getting old. I want my lovely floor plan back where Amelia's room is on the same floor as mine. And with Portland officially in a "heat" wave, I want my AC back ASAP.

So we've got electric back in our house. We've got running water. We've got a microwave oven. We've got pretty floors and wonderful carpet (thanks to our neighbor). We still need the trim work, seal the tile in the master bath, closets, insulation in the attic, refinish the banister, door enclosure & mirror for the bathroom and then a good cleaning. The contractor guesstimates another week and a half to two weeks. Our bathroom is looking great. We've got new fixtures and even new sinks. Apparently, they cracked one of the sinks and the contractor had to pay for it, and thus had to buy us two so they'd match. They aren't perfect, but it will do. We also have a toilet again in the master bath.

The staircase (see the pretty carpet!)

Our new toilet!

The master shower (minus the glass door)

Well, I am going to keep this short as it's about 100 degrees in the room with the computer (it faces west) and there is no AC in this house. It was 90-something today, 94 yesterday and it's supposed to be 90-something tomorrow. A cool down is in the forecast starting Sunday. Luckily I get to work on Saturday in a nice air conditioned facility.

Here are a few pictures of A in the mean time. She's growing like a weed. I measured her the other day and she grew a half inch in three weeks. She's standing on her own and bouncing, so it's only a matter of time before she takes her first steps. I am hoping that it will be in our new house. :) Nice memories.
