Audry, Amelia & Obama

This past weekend, we spent some time at Grandma & Grandpa Rake's house. We also got to see cousin Audry, Uncle Chris and Aunt Jenny. Audry and Amelia had a great time riding in the Radio Flyer wagon. In addition, they both had fun waiting for daddy and grandpa to finish getting their hair cut. Enjoy the pictures and the video.

Also... Amelia wanted to show off her vote for President of the United States... care of Anne O.! Thanks Anne!

And one more thing... here's a picture of Amelia's latest art project she did at daycare. She's becoming quite the artist!

We are back!

Sorry postings have been so few over the past week. Mommy has been busy at work and also on the weekend. Today, we're preparing for the arrival of MoMo and Grandpa Vern for Thanksgiving. The house is clean and I even helped vacuum!

On another note, I now have TWO teeth! The second one came in last night! Yippeee! And if you're wondering... no, I have not bitten down on mommy.

Here's a picture of me eating my peas and rice today. Yummy!

Until next time....

Another milestone... or two... (video)

Amelia keeps achieving milestone after milestone. This past weekend, she finally found her feet and toes, as she keeps inserting them in her mouth. Her second milestone is the fact that she is no longer a "gummy girl". Much to Mommy's dismay, Amelia's first tooth has popped. It's her bottom right tooth. I can see it just starting to emerge, but I really know it's there when I run my finger over the gum. I felt the tooth yesterday evening. So far, she's been a good sport. Every once in awhile she'll get fussy... but we all know it will pass.

Amelia's new friend

Here are a couple of photos taken of Amelia over the weekend and then some. Amelia found a new friend at the bowling alley. One of the guys who is on Brad's team, Logan, has a daughter, Audrey. On Friday the two girls met and had fun playing together. Believe it or not, Audrey is only 3 days older than Amelia. However Audrey's daddy is big and tall. And before you ask... yes, Amelia matched Daddy that night at the bowling alley. I also gave Amelia my old cell phone that doesn't work. She loves it! I can't get her off of the phone now! Yesterday, I snapped some photos of Amelia playing in the pillows on our bed. I know that one of them is really fuzzy, but I had to add it because she was having a great time playing and you can see her smiling really big in that fuzzy picture! Anyway, enjoy!

Hanging out at the Alley

For the past few weeks, every Friday we've been hanging out at the alley... no, not the back alley in the dark. Daddy has joined up with a new bowling league and we've been spending our Friday nights at Rose Bowl in Portland. Daddy and Becky (Amelia's babysitter) along with three other people bowl every Friday night. It's been fun watching Daddy bowl. We snapped some pictures at the alley this past Friday.

Also, this weekend we went to Jack's 75th birthday party. We all had a great time. Andrew who is in sixth grade had a fun time watching Amelia. It was nice because Mommy and Daddy could just party and relax. Even Jeremy had a good time watching Amelia, too.

Today, Andrew came over and practiced babysitting Amelia. It was nice because Mommy could actually clean the house a little bit, throw a load of laundry into the washer and work on the computer a little bit. Andrew got to change Amelia twice (one poopy diaper) and changer her out of her sleep clothes. It was great fun... thanks Andrew!

Tomorrow, it's back to the grind of the work week. Amelia is really fussy the past two days. She's cutting teeth and is not a happy camper. Here are some pictures of this past weekend!

Until next time...

The next step in culinary tastes

Sorry it's been so long since the last post... but Mommy has been busy!

So, for your watching enjoyment, I have posted a new video of Amelia. She is growing up too quickly, for now she is starting down the road towards solid foods. This past Monday, she had her first taste of rice cereal. Yes, it was a ratio of 5 Tbls of breast milk to 1 Tbls of rice cereal, but Amelia enjoyed eating with a spoon. Her second turn with it was last night and she was an eager beaver to gobble it down. Other than that, she's sitting up for longer and longer periods of time without falling over.

More later!

The day after Halloween... (pics & video)

Amelia's first Halloween was a huge success! She had fun trick-or-treating around the neighborhood and at some "select" homes. The night was filled with lots of candy, pictures, crying (every time the doorbell rang, Emmy would bark and Amelia would cry) and a few surprises. We didn't know she had a few candy favorites. Check out the slide show and you'll see what we mean.

Here's video of Amelia with her Halloween booty!

On another note, Amelia keeps growing stronger. She's now sitting up by herself. She doesn't do it all the time, but it's enough for us to keep an eye on her when she's sitting in her high chair. They grow up way too fast!
